The CTD Series of Dissipation factor Verification test sets
have been developed to allow the end-user of Dissipation Factor (Power
factor) test sets to verify the accuracy of the readings of Capacitance,
Dissipation Factor, and Voltage. The CTD series is designed to allow
measurements of up to 12k VAC (50/60 Hz).
The model CTD-1000 Capacitance / Dissipation factor Verification
Set has a nominal Capacitance value of 1000pF (1nF) and a rotary
selector switch which allows the setting of different levels of
Dissipation Factor. These dissipation values can be user selected.
In addition, the Verification Set has a built-in kilovolt meter
for measurements up to 12,000 VAC.
This system requires mains voltage of 100 - 250 VAC for powering
the kilovolt meter and required power relays for the dissipation
factor values of 1%, 2% and 5% only. Capacitance / Dissipation factor
operation of values at < 0.5% does not require any mains voltage
(100-250 VAC).
Ease of use: This verification
test box is quite easy to use. Simply attach the appropriate test
leads and earth ground, then measure with Dissipation Factor (Power
Factor) test equipment. For kilovolt readings and Dissipation Factor
values ³ 1% an external, 100 - 250 VAC source is required.
Impressive Accuracy: The CTD-1000
incorporates a high precision standard capacitor that requires no
external compensation. The Dissipation Factor standards are designed
for the most stable readings.
